Volunteers help improve the lives of Florida’s elders~
The Florida Department of Elder Affairs, along with the Senior Connection Center, invites you to join the award-winning SHINE team of volunteers. This program helps elders make informed decisions about Medicare, health insurance and prescription drug plans.
SHINE volunteers provide individual counseling and assistance to elders and their caregivers about Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare plan choices, long-term care planning and prescription discount drug programs. Volunteers may also make educational presentations to community groups and participate in local health fairs, senior fairs and other outreach and educational events.
If you would like additional information about this exciting opportunity and would like to become a SHINE volunteer in Hillsborough, Hardee, Highlands, Manatee and Polk Counties, please call the Senior Connection Center at 813-676-5593
