Senior Connection Center Announces Retirement of
President & CEO, Charlotte McHenry
Today, Senior Connection Center’s (SCC) Board of Directors announced the upcoming retirement of their President & CEO, Charlotte McHenry, slated for October 31, 2025. Kim Borsheim, SCC’s Board Chair, shared, “The Board has been incredibly proud of Ms. McHenry’s accomplishments as she served in this role, including leading the organization forward in growth while remaining grounded in our core values”.
Ms. McHenry became the President & CEO in the fall of 2014 and has worked tirelessly to carry out Senior Connection Center’s mission to help older adults and persons with disabilities live with independence and dignity. While being at the helm of the organization, SCC was recognized by the Tampa Bay Times as a top workplace since 2015. Charlotte recently stated, “I have been so fortunate to work alongside, not only our Board of Directors and Advisory Council members, but an incredible group of staff, volunteers, providers, and community partners to accomplish our common goal to improve the quality of life for each person we serve”.
Ms. McHenry shared she has more work to do and goals to achieve before she leaves in October of 2025. Next year will mark her 40th year of working in this field, and she commented, “Looking back, the work at times was hard and decisions could be difficult, but the lasting memories of the positive differences we made in the lives we touched far outweighed the challenging days.
Senior Connection Center is the Area Agency on Aging and the Aging and Disability Resource Center for Hardee, Highlands, Hillsborough, Manatee, and Polk counties. Our mission is to help older adults and persons with disabilities live with independence and dignity.
