SENIOR CONNECTION CENTER PRESIDENT & CEO RECOGNIZED AS
ONE OF TAMPA BAY AREA’S TOP 3 CEOS BY THE TAMPA BAY TIMES
Tampa, FL – March 29, 2021 – Senior Connection Center’s President & CEO, Charlotte McHenry, is one of three business leaders from the entire Tampa Bay area to be recognized by the Tampa Bay Times as a Top CEO for 2021. The Times selected one leader from each of three categories based on the size of their businesses. McHenry was named Top CEO in the small business category. In addition to McHenry, Thomas Feindt, CEO of Grow Financial Federal Credit Union and Robert Ritchie, CEO of American Integrity Insurance Group were also recognized in the large and midsize business categories respectively.
“For the leaders of the Tampa Bay Times Top Workplaces for 2021, the past year hasn’t been easy. From remote work to lay-offs, systemic racism and political unrest, CEOs have faced immense challenges as they’ve tried to guide employees through 12 months of Crisis.” reports the March 28, 2021 edition of the Tampa Bay Times. “We wanted to know how they did it.” Employees’ survey responses cited these top CEOs all demonstrated openness and authenticity, compassion and enthusiasm, and commitments to communication and inclusivity during a trying year.
“The main goal for me was to make sure staff were safe,” says McHenry of her strategy for navigating through this past year. “But I also knew it was important to address the issues of racism and racial injustice that escalated during the pandemic. We hosted a series of three sessions on racial injustice for our staff, conducted by a colleague of mine who’s exceptional in that area. I received a lot of positive feedback from staff about this.”
For the 6th year in a row, Senior Connection Center was also named a Top Workplace for 2021 by the Tampa Bay Times, receiving the Bronze ranking within the small business category. The Top Workplaces lists are based solely on the results of an anonymous and independently administered employee feedback survey.
“These may be turbulent and stressful times, but we remain committed to our core values of respect, compassion, quality, teamwork, and work/life balance,” says McHenry regarding their consistent Top Workplace designation. “These core values allow us to maintain a supportive workplace environment for our employees, which, in turn, allows them to continue to provide the high quality of service our clients deserve.”
