We offer a number of free evidence-based health and wellness workshops, including Tai Chi for Arthritis for Fall Prevention, A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns About Falls, Diabetes Empowerment Education Program, and Bingocize®.

Class Participants

Evidence-Based Workshops are offered at no cost. Participants must be age 60 or older to attend.

A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns About Falls

An 8 session fall prevention and balance improvement program that emphasizes practical strategies to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels. Class size is 8-12 participants. Workshop is held twice per week for 4 weeks or once per week for 8 weeks.)

Bingocize®

A 10-week, health promotion program that combines exercise and health information with the familiar game of bingo, which has shown to be a great, fun way to get seniors moving and socializing. Class size 8 – 20 participants. (Workshop is held twice per week.)

Healthy Eating Every Day

A 14-week lifestyle education program to improve eating habits. Class size is 5 -20 participants. (Workshop is held once per week.)

Diabetes Empowerment Education Program

An 8-week program designed to provide participants with tools to better manage their diabetes. This includes nutrition, prevention of both chronic and acute complications, self-monitoring, and individual goals to improve health and quality of life. Class size is 5-10 participants. (Workshop is held once per week.)

Active Living Every Day

A 12-week program to promote physical activity by exploring ways to incorporate physical activity in daily life. This program is ideal for more sedentary older adults. Class size is 5-20 participants. (Workshop is held once per week.)

EnhanceWellness

An individualized program to help participants meet their goals of improving health, becoming more active, or reducing isolation. The program consists of once per month phone calls or virtual meetings to set goals and encourage progress.

Tai Chi for Arthritis for Fall Prevention

An 8-week exercise program of slow and gentle movements that increase strength, balance, flexibility, and energy. Class size is 10-20 participants. (Workshop is held twice per week.)
