Suncoast Credit Union loves seniors! Helping local communities is a huge part of Suncoast’s mission, and seniors are the heart of a community. So, Suncoast makes sure that seniors get the amazing financial service and community support they deserve.
Here’s some of the ways Suncoast supports seniors:
Helping Seniors Save
Saving money is the key to a successful financial life. At Suncoast, members get more free services, fewer fees, and lower rates on loans. All those savings add up to make a major difference!
With Suncoast’s CashBack+ program, members can earn cash back on everyday purchases from popular brands. It’s also easy to build credit with Bloom+ which turns on-time payments for rent, phone, and utilities into real credit-building progress.
Suncoast even offers free financial counseling for members who need it. No matter where you are in your financial life, you can count on Suncoast to support you.
Volunteering for Causes that Support Seniors
Another way that Suncoast pours into the community is through volunteering. Giving back is something Suncoast employees take seriously. Team members choose causes that are meaningful for them, including many that support seniors.
For example, Suncoast volunteers have worked with the Seniors in Service TelePals program to address the growing problem of seniors in social isolation. Suncoast team members have also volunteered for Meals on Wheels, delivering hot, nutritious meals to homebound seniors.
Protecting Seniors from Scams
One of the most important things Suncoast does for members is to help them stay safe from scams. Scammers are clever. They are experts at tricking people and they often target seniors.
Thankfully, there is one simple thing you can do to prevent yourself from becoming a victim of fraud: do NOT click the link. When you get an unexpected text that claims to be from a financial institution and it includes a link, do not click it. If you get an unexpected email trying to get you to take action, do not click the links.
These scammers might pretend to be from your financial institution and say you had a large amount transferred out of your account. Or they might pretend to be from Amazon and say they have tracking information for a package you never bought. Or they might say they are from the IRS and you owe money.
Notice a pattern? The scam texts or emails are trying to frighten you into taking action to get you to click on a fraudulent link. Suncoast takes time to educate people on how to spot and avoid scams.
Suncoast’s mission is to improve the financial lives of members, and their culture is all about supporting local communities. If you’re ready to learn more about everything Suncoast has to offer, visit Suncoast.com or stop by a branch.
